We are eSmart!

Our school is proud to announce we have officially been an eSmart school for four years. Since we first registered with the program, we have introduced many new policies and activities to improve the way our school manages cybersafety, bullying and cyberbullying. We feel confident our students, staff and the wider school community are now well supported to be smart, safe and responsible users of digital technology. We encourage everyone in the school community to continue to uphold and promote eSmart behaviours, at school and at home. If you are aware of any incidents of bullying, cyberbullying or risky online behaviour, please contact the Principal or our eSmart coordinator, Mrs Kim Streitberger.

Students benefit from access to multi-media in every classroom. Students use a range of computer assisted learning technologies to complement their learning. They are able to communicate with students all over Australia and overseas to share their knowledge and learn from each other. All students belong to Mathletics and Reading Eggs and can access these programs from school and home.

All students from Foundation to Year 6 routinely use learning technologies to access information and differentiated learning tasks, work on research projects and prepare information for presentations in multiple formats. In conjunction with more traditional teaching and learning methods, students can assume greater responsibility for their own learning with a focus on inquiring, problem-solving, collaborative and co-operative skills through the use of computer technologies.

Interactive televisions and iPads are available for use by teachers and students to assist with teaching and learning. The school has a BYO device program for students in Years 3-6 and provides iPads for use in Foundation to Year 2 at a ratio of at least one device for every four students.

Coding is taught as part of our Mathematics program. We have different types of robots for each Learning Centre and students share their expertise with their buddies and during Robot Rumble sessions. The robots used include Spheros, Beebots, Dot and Dash and Ozobots
